About Loyalty & Rewards program

Turn one-time buyers into regulars

Customers who collect points come back to spend them. With this plugin, every account, order, newsletter sign-up and review earns points, and customers turn those points into a discount on their next order. They have a reason to create an account instead of checking out as a guest, and a reason to choose your shop over a competitor.

Earn points with Flow Builder

Everything is built on Shopware's Flow Builder, so you decide what earns points without writing code. Two flows come with the plugin, ready to switch on:

  • Welcome bonus: 100 points when a customer creates an account.
  • Points for every order: 1 point per euro spent on products, once the order is paid.

Add your own with the plugin's flow actions, for example:

  • 50 points for a confirmed newsletter sign-up, once per customer,
  • 25 points for a product review you accept,
  • points for reviews on Reviews.io,
  • or points for any other Flow Builder trigger in your shop.

For orders, you set the points per euro, whether shipping counts, and that a flow only runs once per order. Exclude products, Dynamic Product Groups or reduced products (with a list price), and choose whether orders with a promotion earn points.

Redeem points in the cart

In the cart, customers see how many points the order earns ("You'll earn 129 loyalty points with this order."), their balance and what it's worth ("You have 723 points, that's enough for a discount of €7.23!"), and choose how many points to use. The discount appears as a line item, and the points are deducted when the order is placed. Prefer it simpler? Let the plugin redeem all points in every cart automatically.

You set the value of one point. In other currencies it's converted, so a point is worth the same everywhere, or you set your own value per currency. A customer can never redeem more than their balance or more than the value of the products, and you can exclude products from redemption or block redemption in carts with a promotion.

Let points expire

Points that expire give customers a reason to come back soon. Let them expire a number of months after they were earned, on a fixed day such as 31 December, or both ("at the end of the year after they were earned"). Spent points always come from the points that expire first. Customers see in My Account and the checkout which points expire soon, and the plugin brings a reminder mail and a Flow Builder template that sends it at the start of the notice period you choose.

Exclusive offers for loyal customers

The Rule Builder condition Loyalty points lets you use the balance anywhere Shopware uses rules: a promotion for customers with 500 points or more, free shipping for your most loyal customers, or a special price. With a second rule you exclude customers from the program, for example your staff or B2B customer groups.

Clear for everyone

  • On the product page: "Buy this product to earn 129 loyalty points!", optionally only for customers who match a rule.
  • In the cart and checkout: how many points the order earns.
  • In My Account: the balance, the points that expire soon and the full history, with the reason for every change. Customers can download all their loyalty data as a CSV file, unless you turn that off.
  • In the Administration: a Loyalty tab on every customer with the balance and the history, linked to the orders. Add or deduct points by hand with a reason ("Sorry for the late delivery") that the customer sees in My Account.

The storefront, the Administration and the reminder mail are available in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Danish.

Cancellations and returns

When an order is cancelled, the customer automatically gets back the points they redeemed, and the points the order earned are taken back. That happens once, also when an order is reopened and cancelled again. With Shopware Commercial's return management, points for returned items are deducted when the return is created, and a later cancellation only takes back what's left.

For developers

Headless shops and apps get Store API routes for the balance, the history and redeeming points, documented in the Store API reference. The cart response includes the points the order earns. The point calculation for orders dispatches an event you can listen to, so you can change how points are calculated or sync balances with an external system. Every flow action writes to its own log file (var/log/lae_loyalty.log).
